Where this started

I did not always know this.

I have always loved men's fashion. But when I got married in 2014, I found out fast how different professional dressing is from anything I knew. I took advice that did not fit me, and it showed, that is me on the left. I found a tailor I trusted, started sourcing my own fabric, and learned the difference between a suit that just gets worn and one that actually fits. That is what became Cardero Clothing.

Who you are talking to

Derek Burbidge, Owner and Founder of Cardero Clothing.

This is not a stylist reading a colour chart. Derek has personally dressed thousands of men since 2015, and he runs your call himself. Every one matters, and yours is treated that way. Here is what that is like.

The problem

You do not need more clothes. You need a plan.

Most men we talk to are not short on options. They have a wardrobe bought one piece at a time, none of it quite going together, half of it never worn. The problem was never the shopping. It is that nobody ever sat down and told them what they actually need, and in what order to get it.

The call

45 minutes, one to one, with Derek.

Derek works through your work, the clientele you deal with, your build, your colouring, and what is already hanging in your closet. He asks the questions a good tailor asks, and he listens.

By the end he knows what you own, what you are missing, and what will actually get worn. Then he builds it into your digital profile.

  • Your work, your clientele, and how you want to come across
  • Your build and your colouring, matched to what suits you
  • What you already own, and what is worth keeping
  • The gaps, and the order to fill them in

What you keep

Your digital style profile.

Everything from the call, captured and yours for good. This is the part most men have never had.

“We talked through your move into a leadership role and a wardrobe built around navy and grey, with a little warmth. The plan below fills the gaps in the order that makes the biggest difference first.”

What to buy next
  1. A navy suit, first. Two-button and notch lapel in a Super 120 wool that carries from the office to a wedding. The one piece that covers almost everything you named.
  2. Charcoal trousers and a grey sport coat, so the suit is not doing all the work and you have a sharp look that is not a full suit.
  3. Two dress shirts, crisp white and soft blue, cut to your measurements, with a knit tie and a white pocket square to finish them.

and much more, in the order that suits your life.

A sample. Yours is built entirely around your call.

How it works

Book, talk, and get your plan.

Book the session

Pick a time that works. It is 45 minutes, one to one, in our Langley studio or by phone or video.

We talk it through

Derek works through your work, your clientele, your build, your colouring, and your closet. You do most of the talking. He does the thinking.

You get your digital profile

Shortly after the call, your digital style profile lands in your inbox: your summary, your palette, and your buy-next order.

Build at your pace

We would love for you to build it with us, and if you do, your measurements go on file so every order after is just a conversation about cloth. But the plan is built to stand on its own. It is yours to use anywhere.

Questions

Common questions.

What exactly is the Wardrobe Plan?

A 45-minute one-to-one call with Derek Burbidge. He works through your work, your clientele, your build, your colouring, and what you already own, then builds your digital profile. You keep a full digital style profile: a short summary of what you covered, your personal colour palette, and exactly what to buy next.

What do I walk away with?

A digital style profile that is yours to keep for good. It covers a summary of what we discussed, your personal colour palette, and a prioritised list of what to buy next and the reasoning behind each step, and much more.

How long is the call, and what does it cost?

The call is 45 minutes. It is $199 CAD, and that covers the call and the digital profile together. It is yours to keep.

Do I have to buy anything?

No. Most men use the plan to finally stop guessing and buy in the right order, but you are never obligated to. The profile is yours regardless.

I am not local. Can I do this?

Yes. The whole session happens on a call, and we dress clients across Canada and the United States. If you decide to order, you measure yourself at home and Derek and our team confirm your numbers before anything is cut.
