Our Coquitlam room is at HQ Workspaces on Lincoln Ave, a few minutes from Coquitlam Centre and walking distance from Lincoln Station. For most of the Tri-Cities that means a made-to-measure fitting with no SkyTrain to take, no downtown parking and no Saturday lost to the commute. We dress professionals who ride the line into town every morning, Burke Mountain families with a wedding coming, and business owners across Port Moody, Port Coquitlam and New Westminster. Your measurements stay on file, so the next order can be placed without coming back in at all.

A big frame is a set of measurements, not a size.
The Tri-Cities have no shortage of places to buy a suit and nowhere that cuts one to a 54 chest, a 20 neck and a long rise at the same time. Our Coquitlam studio at HQ Workspaces, 3030 Lincoln Ave, does exactly that: every one of your 21 measurements is taken in a private room and the pattern is built from them, so the jacket closes over the stomach, the shoulders sit where yours are, and the trousers hold at the waist instead of under it.
There is no upper limit. Our Owner and Founder, Derek Burbidge, has measured 76-inch chests and 22-inch necks, and the suit is built to those numbers. Suits start at $899, and the first appointment at our Coquitlam studio is complimentary, for men from Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby and New Westminster as much as Coquitlam itself.

For a Tri-Cities wedding, built ahead of the date.
From a Burke Mountain backyard to a dinner on the water at Rocky Point, the groom gets a suit that is his, fitted, and kept long after the day.

Made-to-measure suits without the trip downtown.
The made-to-measure suits we build at HQ Workspaces on Lincoln Ave start from your measurements, not a size chart. Shoulder width, back length, sleeve on each arm, rise and seat are each taken and cut on their own, which is why there is nothing to fight with on day one.
Wool blend starts at $899, Super 120 at $1,299 and Super 150 at $1,699. Once you are on file, a second suit is a twenty-minute appointment to choose the cloth, and production is the same five to six weeks.

We look after what we make.
If you are searching for a tailor to hem trousers or take in a jacket from another store, we are not that shop, and we would rather tell you here than on the phone. If it is a suit we made, the alterations are ours to cover. Anything that needs adjusting in the first 30 days after delivery is handled by a local tailor at our cost, and we follow up with every client personally once the suit lands.
Shirts for the commute and the boardroom.
If you ride the SkyTrain into town five days a week, you need more shirts than suits. Custom dress shirts start at $199, with the collar sized to your neck, the sleeves cut to each arm and a body that stays tucked when you reach for the rail.
They are planned alongside your suits so the colours and collars work together, and the first shirt is made and fitted before the rest of the order goes ahead.

Forty-five minutes, on your side of town.
The appointment is private and runs 45 to 90 minutes. We talk through your work and your build, take 21 measurements, then sit down with cloth and decide the details together. A written style profile follows within 24 hours. Nothing is off a rack and nobody is working on commission.
Wool blend suits start at $899, Super 120 wool at $1,299. You can price your build before you book.

Common questions.
Where is the Coquitlam studio?
HQ Workspaces at 3030 Lincoln Ave, a few minutes from Coquitlam Centre and a short walk from Lincoln Station. It is a private room by appointment only.
Do I have to go into Vancouver for a custom suit?
No. That is most of the reason the Coquitlam room exists. There is no SkyTrain to take and no downtown parking, and the appointment takes 45 to 90 minutes rather than an afternoon.
How much is a custom suit in Coquitlam?
A Cardero suit starts at $899 in a wool blend, $1,299 in Super 120 wool, and $1,699 in Super 150, each built to your 21 measurements with the first appointment, shipping and any alterations included. Price your exact build on our pricing page.
Which areas do you serve from Coquitlam?
Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burke Mountain, Austin Heights, Maillardville, Burnaby and New Westminster.
How many measurements do you take?
21, taken at your first appointment and kept on file permanently, so every order after the first is faster and closer than the last.
Can I bring in a suit from another store to be altered?
No. We do not take in alterations on clothing from other stores. For suits and shirts we make, anything that needs adjusting in the first 30 days after delivery is covered at our cost by a local tailor.
Do you make dress shirts as well as suits?
Yes. Custom dress shirts start at $199, made to your measurements and planned with your suits so the collars and colours work together.
Where is the best place to buy a men's suit near Coquitlam?
It depends whether you want to buy a suit off a rack or have one built for you. Our Coquitlam studio is private and by appointment, your 21 measurements are taken and kept on file, nobody works on commission, and the first appointment is complimentary. If you want the suit cut to your body instead of altered to fit, that is the difference.
Is Cardero a suit store or a tailor?
Neither, exactly. There is no shop floor and no rack to buy from, and we are not an alterations shop. We are a made-to-measure studio: your suit is cut from your own 21 measurements in the cloth you choose. Alterations after delivery are covered and handled by a trusted local tailor.
Do you dress athletic builds and big and tall men in Coquitlam?
Yes, and it is the most common reason men come to us. Off-the-rack sizing assumes an average build, so a heavy chest, broad shoulders, or a longer torso ends up fighting the jacket. Cutting from 21 measurements solves that at the pattern stage instead of at the alterations bench.
