Built to your frame, from 21 measurements.

A big and tall store stocks bigger sizes, but every jacket still comes with a fixed length, sleeve and stomach. So the button strains or the shoulders drown, and the trousers sit under the stomach and slide down all day.

We never cut to only your chest measurement or drop. We measure all of it and cut each piece to its own number.

What we cut to you

Four things a size chart gets wrong.

Jacket length

Long enough to cover the seat, and not an inch more. On a big frame, length does more for the line than anything else.

The button

Closes over the stomach with no pull and the lapels lying flat, because the chest and the waist are both cut in.

The rise

We find the best place for your trousers to sit, decided in your appointment. Above the stomach for some men, below it for others, always with room in the seat and thigh.

Shoulders and collar

A soft shoulder with the seam on the bone and no padding. A shirt collar cut to your neck, not three sizes up.

Lighter cloth that drapes.

Heavy cloth adds bulk and holds heat. These drape over a big frame instead of adding to it.

Wool blend, from $899

Durable, wears year-round and holds a press.

Wool blend with stretch, from $1,049

Three percent stretch for the seat, thigh and back. Still looks like a matte wool suit.

Common questions.

Do you make big and tall suits?

Yes, and there is no upper limit, because we never cut to only your chest measurement or drop. We have made suits for 76-inch chests and 22-inch necks, and inseams as long as you need. Measurements over 50 inches carry an additional charge, which we confirm with you before anything is cut.

Is there a big and tall store near me?

We have studios in Langley, Coquitlam and Abbotsford, and a big frame is one of the most common reasons men come to us. There is no big and tall rack because there is no rack: you sit down in a private room, get measured, and the suit is cut to you. The first appointment is complimentary.

How should a suit fit a big man?

The jacket covers the seat and closes at the top button over the stomach with no pull. The shoulder seam sits on the bone with no padding. The sleeves end at the wrist bone with a half-inch of shirt cuff. The trousers sit at the natural waist with room in the seat and thigh. If any of those is wrong, the suit was sized, not cut.

How far ahead should I come in?

Production takes five to six weeks, but come in at least three and a half months before you need the suit, and four is better. That leaves time to choose the cloth without a rush and to confirm the fit.

Can I order a big and tall suit online?

Yes. You choose the colour and the cloth in our online shop, fill in our measurement form and send two photos. Our Owner and Founder, Derek Burbidge, and our team check your numbers against the photos before anything is cut. Shipping is included across Canada and the United States.

What if it does not fit when it arrives?
