Same trip. A suit cut to you.
Our Coquitlam studio is right across the street.
A private room, one-to-one with our Owner and Founder, Derek Burbidge. A half-canvas suit cut from 21 of your own measurements, built to stay in rotation for years.
What changes when the suit is made for you.
Stitched, not glued.
Most off-the-rack jackets are fused: a stiff layer is glued to the front to give it shape. Heat, steam and dry cleaning break that glue down over time, and the chest starts to bubble. A fused jacket usually gives out long before a canvassed one.
Every Cardero jacket is half-canvas. A canvas layer is stitched through the chest and lapel, so it moulds to you and holds its shape, and the seams are sewn strong because you are going to wear it.

Common questions.
Is a made-to-measure suit more expensive than a store suit?
Usually, yes. Our suits start at $899 in a wool blend, $1,299 in Super 120 wool and $1,699 in Super 150. What changes is what you get for it: a suit cut from 21 of your own measurements, a half-canvas jacket that holds its shape for years, and adjustments in the first 30 days at our cost. You can price your outfit before you come in.
What is the difference between fused and half-canvas?
A fused jacket has a stiff layer glued to the front. Heat, steam and dry cleaning break the glue down over time, and the chest can start to bubble. A half-canvas jacket has a canvas layer stitched through the chest and lapel, so it moulds to you and keeps its shape. Every Cardero jacket is half-canvas.
How long does it take?
Production takes five to six weeks. If you have an event, come in at least three and a half months before it, and four is better. A rush is available when the date is close.
Do I have to buy at the first appointment?
No. The first appointment is complimentary. You leave with a plan and a price, and you decide in your own time. Nobody here works on commission.
