Wearing a Brown Suit

Today we will look at different shades of a brown suit. All colors lean away from the traditional khaki or tan but will fit right in for the fall/winter season especially. We will focus on brown as a whole as well because I am a champion of bringing it back. If you choose the right brown you can make it look great.

STYLE #1

Starting with the title image the dress shirt is a very light pastel blue, the tie is copper with a light blue pattern and a light pink herringbone pocket square. The patterns are subtle, besides the tie, allowing the brown suit to be the focal point.

STYLE #2

Again with a very light shirt whether light blue or white, this look would work with both. The rich maroon pops off the shirt and compliments the whole look. Adding a light pocket square with textures, patterns or solid will complete the outfit.

STYLE #3

I loooove dark green with a brown suit. Whether it is the shirt, a vest, the tie or pocket square. Add it in with a light blue shirt or pocket square.

STYLE #4

I like the choice of the yellow background here because it showcases how well the colors go together. I would not do it in a very pronounced way but bring it into the pattern on the pocket square, in the tie or on the shirt.

STYLE #5

Brown on brown on brown. Darker brown in the tie, lighter brown in the vest and brown trim on the pocket square. This is a classic look but I would recommend adding in green, blue, maroon or yellow into this outfit whether it is the tie, shirt or pocket square.
