One of the most common things I hear before a first appointment is some version of the same question: “I want to know what this costs before I come in.” That’s completely fair. Here’s a straight answer.

What does a made-to-measure suit actually cost at Cardero?

Our suits start at $899 for a wool blend. From there, the price moves with the fabric. A wool blend with 3% Lycra runs $1,049 to $1,099. Super 120 wool, which is the fabric most of our professional clients gravitate toward, is $1,299. Super 150 wool, the finest option we carry, is $1,699. Adding a tuxedo conversion to any fabric is an extra $75.

Every suit includes 21 measurements, your complete style profile, fabric selection from thousands of options, and alterations covered if anything needs adjustment after delivery. There’s no fitting fee on top of that.

How does that compare to buying off the rack?

A department store suit in the $500 to $900 range is made for a generic body. You’ll likely need alterations regardless, which adds $80 to $200 depending on the work. And even after alterations, the proportions still reflect a standard pattern, not your body. A custom suit built to your 21 measurements fits differently from day one, and it doesn’t need to be fixed after the fact.

When you factor in what you actually spend on off-the-rack plus tailoring, plus replacement when it wears unevenly because it was never balanced for your posture, the gap closes quickly.

What about dress shirts and other garments?

Our custom dress shirts are $199 each, made from 100% two-ply cotton. Ties are $85. Pocket squares are $30. Vests are priced at 35% of the suit price — $315 on a blend or $455 on a Super 120. If you’re building out a full wardrobe, we have package pricing that saves you up to $2,196 compared to buying each piece separately.

Are there payment plan options?

Yes. We offer bi-weekly and monthly payment plans if required, with a deposit required to start. Many clients start with one suit and a couple of shirts, then come back every few months to add pieces. Reorder appointments take about 20 minutes and ship in approximately four-five weeks once your measurements are on file.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. The first appointment is free and carries no obligation. We’ll talk through your lifestyle, your professional context, and what you actually need. Nobody here works on commission, so there’s no pressure to buy anything during the session.
